Leonardo - Clinical eDiary
Electronic Patient Diary
Leonardo is Symfo’s patented, cost-effective electronic patient diary solution for recording symptoms, medication intakes, and brief questionnaires. It uses Symfo’s unique acoustic technology for transmitting data – no additional equipment is necessary. The Leonardo eDiary is ideal for simple questionnaires such as those used in Phase IV, Registries, Post marketing, Safety Surveillance, and Labeling trials.
Purpose built, just for electronic patient reported outcomes (ePRO), Leonardo’s LCD screen can display any language, including Chinese. Additionally, the input buttons are deliberately simple symbols that avoid misinterpretation no matter what the cultural or linguistic heritage of the patients.
Cost-efficiency is achieved by delivering a device that costs about 1/3 of the average amount needed for other ePRO device solutions. Like the Michelangelo electronic patient diaries system, the ability to reconfigure the device for reuse on new patients as they enroll can drive ePRO costs down very significantly.
Using wireless audio data transmission, the Leonardo device can operate wherever a simple phone line is available – the patient does not have to plug in any cables. Using this methodology, Symfo has proven ePRO can be conducted in remote and out-of-the-way places around the planet.
