Symfo, a leading provider of electronic patient reported outcome (ePRO) solutions for clinical trials, announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance with Datapharm Australia Pty Ltd, a full-service CRO (Contract Research Organisation) and DMO (Data Management Organisation).
Symfo will provide Datapharm's customers with its suite of ePRO solutions and Datapharm will provide local support services for Symfo's Australian clients.
Serge Bodart, CEO of Symfo, commented on the partnership announcement, "We are excited about working with Datapharm and to further broaden our customer market in Australia. This collaboration will allow pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in Australia to benefit from our unique solutions and data transmission technologies, coupled with Datapharm's local support and expertise in clinical data management."
"By partnering with Symfo, we will be able to better meet our customers' needs," said Helen Allars, Managing Director of Datapharm Australia Pty Ltd. "Symfo is the only e-Diary solution provider that has no painful logistics for patients to send data. Their special acoustic technology removes all the frustrations and inconvenience of using modems. Patients just have to dial a toll-free number, put the e-Diary close to the phone, and that's it! So, thanks to this unique technology, we are certain to increase our ability to bring a new electronic clinical data capture solution to an expanding market in Australia."
About SYMFO: (www.symfo.com)
Symfo is an international organization specializing in electronic patient diary solutions, including the SymPro electronic patient diary, the SymQuest Palm-based diary and the SymVoice IVR. They are all simple to use and affordable solutions enabling study participants to easily implement electronic patient diaries in all phases of clinical trials and post-marketing studies.
The method of audio transfer used by the Symfo is the most reliable and easiest data transfer solution available on the market today. To send data, the patient simply picks up the handset of a regular household telephone, dials a toll-free number, and places the e-Diary next to the receiver. The server answers the call using sounds that are interpreted by the e-Diary, which in turn sends encrypted data. The entire transmission takes about two minutes, depending on the amount of data. Since the study participants dial a toll-free number, there is no charge to them to send data. The sponsor pays on a per-call basis. There is no additional modem equipment to purchase, and no expensive monthly telephone charges. Symfo, with offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Brussels, Belgium, is the only vendor to currently offer this innovative data transmission option.
